IGP Kashmir Zone chairs review meeting at PCR Kashmir | KNO

Srinagar, Sep 03 (KNO): In order to review the assembly election preparedness, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi Tuesday chaired a meeting with the senior police officers of Kashmir Zone in the conference hall of Police Control Room Kashmir. The meeting was attended by all range DIsG & SSsP of Kashmir Zone through VC & physically attended by SSP PCR Kashmir, SO to IGP Kashmir, SP PC Srinagar, Addl. SP PCR Kashmir and other senior officers, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said. At the outset of the meeting, IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi briefed the participating officers regarding the overall election preparedness and arrival of CAPFs to the UT of J&K. All the district SSsP were briefed about the phase wise deployments available, inter-intra district movement of forces and their induction/de-induction in the districts. IGP Kashmir stressed upon all the district police chiefs to ensure proper logistic & transportation arrangement for the CAPF in their respective districts. He also directed that CAPF counterparts may also be involved during the deployment process and all efforts be taken for smooth induction of CAPF and their meticulous deployment plan in all the three phases of the upcoming Assembly Elections. The district SSsP also briefed the IGP Kashmir with regard to the preparations on the ground and assured that all the necessary measures would be taken to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections. The IGP directed the range DIsG and district SSsP to review the preparations at their own level, identify the gap areas and address the issues at the earliest. The meeting concluded with the IGP expressing confidence in the capabilities of the police & the CAPF to provide safe, smooth & secure environment for the conduct of election—(KNO)
